At Trewen Meadows, we rely on the generosity of people like you to continue our life-changing work with disabled children and adults across the county and beyond. Every pound you give helps us make a real difference — not just today, but for the long term.
Running our centre costs over £130,000 each year, and a large part of that goes toward caring for our incredible team of horses and ponies. As key members of the HRDA family, their wellbeing is our top priority. That means regular care from a vet, farrier, equine dentist, and physiotherapist — all essential to keeping them happy, healthy, and ready to support our riders.
Your support ensures we can continue providing exceptional care for our equine staff and life-enhancing experiences for our riders.
We’re inviting individuals and businesses to become part of something special at Trewen Meadows by sponsoring the upkeep of one of our amazing horses or ponies.
For just £4 per month, you can help provide the essential care our equine team needs to thrive and continue their incredible work with disabled riders.
As pioneers in the therapeutic use of horses, and the only major UK charity dedicated specifically to the health and wellbeing benefits of bringing people and horses together, Trewen Meadows is a trusted partner for charitable trusts and foundations committed to empowering disabled people and driving meaningful, lasting change.
We rely entirely on voluntary donations to continue our work. Grants from trusts and foundations are vital — whether supporting our core services or enabling specific, high-impact projects, your funding helps us deliver innovative, far-reaching programmes that transform lives.
By partnering with Trewen Meadows, you're investing in a unique, proven approach to improving physical, emotional, and social wellbeing through equine-assisted activities.
Each year, around £1 in every £5 of Trewen Meadow’s charitable income comes from generous supporters who have remembered us in their wills. These special gifts help us provide life-enhancing therapy and joyful experiences through horses to around 200 disabled children and adults every year.
Once you’ve taken care of your loved ones, a gift in your will — even just 1% of your estate — could help future generations experience the magic of Trewen Meadows.
After deciding the kind of gift you'd like to leave and speaking with your solicitor or will writer, you just need the following details:
We understand that your will is a private matter, and there's no obligation to tell us. But if you choose to share your intentions, we’d love the opportunity to thank you personally and keep you updated with our news and events.
We are thrilled to announce the completion of our £2.2 million building — a cutting-edge equine therapeutic centre specifically designed to support people with disabilities, additional needs, or other requirements. Our facility offers a safe, accessible, and welcoming environment where individuals can enjoy a variety of activities with horses, promoting well-being, connection, and healing.
Our previous home in Holme Lacy was too small to meet our growing needs and lacked the financial security required for a sustainable long-term future.
Around six years ago, we began the search for a new location. In 2021, we successfully identified and purchased a beautiful 40-acre site near Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire. After securing planning permission in 2023 and raising the necessary funds, construction began in the summer of 2024.
Whether you’re seeking therapeutic sessions or recreational activities tailored to your needs, our centre is designed to provide exceptional support and care for all participants.
Come and discover the unique bond between humans and horses in a place built with care and passion.
To help bring this vision to life, we launched a crowdfunding campaign that has been vital in funding essential aspects of our project. If you’d like to support us or learn more, please visit our crowdfunding page here:
